Ryan and Megan Engebrethson use integrated Fisher & Paykel appliances to bring together their newly built kitchen!
After spending three years in Germany, Ryan and Megan Engebrethson, were ready to come back to California and make their dream home a reality. After extensive house hunting, they finally found a place to call home in the Bay Area. So, we traveled out to Santa Clara to meet with them and find out what their house-hunting journey was like and find out why Airport Home Appliance was their go-to place for their appliance needs. Ryan started it off and told us, “What really helped us make an offer on this particular home, and actually follow through with the purchase, was actually seeing the amazing opportunity we had to make even more space with a remodel. It had potential”. Their newly remodeled kitchen combines a “mixture of modern and old-world touches” as per Megan, making for a very unique and personalized design. The newly remodeled kitchen is paired with the luxury brand Fisher & Paykel. Featuring a gas range with an oven, an integrated refrigerator, and an integrated dishwasher.
Ryan then went on to tell us, “Before we actually did anything, we knew we needed help to start this whole thing. We really needed a designer to help transpose our ideas into reality.” So, Sandra Blank, from Blank Space Designs did exactly that and stepped into the project to help guide them in the right direction. Together, they were able to find out just how amazing their house can truly be. And where did they find Sandra? On the forefront of Airport Home Appliance of course!
Sandra’s first move with the Engebrethson’s was to finalize the most important part of the remodel, the appliances. The couple initially visited the Concord Showroom on their own to view everything firsthand. After research and time, they finally went back and finalized their purchase with Jean Farasat. “It was helpful to go because we weren't actually set on dishwasher drawers or the model, so it was helpful to walk around the showroom and feel it. It’s not the same online. So, after a few visits to the showroom, that’s when we knew we had to do our purchase with Airport Home Appliance.” Megan told us. Though the Engebrethson’s were first-time buyers, they had a particular vision to use integrated pieces so that everything from the cabinets to the tiles could complement one another in a seamless kitchen.
When we asked about their brand decision, they told us, “The appliance brand decision was based on if they could be integrated and that they were higher end, looked amazing, but were also not over the top expensive.”. They continued with, "Fisher & Paykel, and Airport Home Appliance overall had a better price point, so that was a very big deal for us. We were happy and actually felt comfortable with this premium, especially at a price point we could work with.”.
The Engebrethson’s initially had a very small galley kitchen. The kitchen was just a small space with little to no customizable features and pushed up against what used to be a laundry room, which was then awkwardly converted into a single home office space. But after planning and demolition, the couple was left with an open kitchen featuring an island, and a wet bar, with plenty of room to relax and expand. “We made that small room into a great room, opening the walls. The kitchen was just this small galley. Everything was separate. So, we needed to find a way to bring it all together, so did.”.
