A man and woman in a luxury kitchen featuring stainless steel double wall oven, stainless steel refrigerator, and a stainless steel range from Bertazzoni

Nancy Nakano and Michael Mangano use Bertazzoni appliances to accent their sleek, minimalistic kitchen. We sat down with Nancy Nakano and Michael Mangano, owners of MTM Building Group located in Gilroy. They recently just finished their free slowing minimalistic home nestled atop the hillside of Gilroy Country Oat Estates! So, naturally, we had to go and find out what went into their remodeling journey!

So, why did you select Bertazzoni for your kitchen?

Well, the first thing we thought about was: We need an appliance manufacturer that has a good reputation. That was a must. Plus, among other things, we wanted a manufacturer that also had been producing appliances for a while and had been manufacturing products that had the high-end appliance look at a competitive price. Ultimately, we wanted a good-Ol' Italian manufacturer, someone that had been in the business for a long time. The name “Bertazzoni” just sounds great too!

That’s Great! Now, tell us about your experience with Airport Home Appliance.

Well, we started buying from Airport Home Appliance about 14 years ago. We heard you all through a friend and called the Hayward warehouse and figured out we should give it a shot! Of course, we had never visited the stores, so we went in, and that’s when we met Moe!

And how was your experience with Moe Meschi?

Moe was the key to everything. After we looked around and shopped for some time, Moe was able to order exactly what we needed. He had them scheduled out and delivered promptly, and he was able to give us competitive pricing on everything. Ever since then, we have been calling Moe at Airport Appliance whenever we need something. See, when you find a company with products at a competitive price, with associates that provide stellar customer service and expert advice – you need to stick with them. We’re very appreciative of everything they have done for us.

As builders, how would you normally ensure appliances pair well with your cabinetry, flooring, and back-splash?

We always like suggesting to our clients that they should find their favorite flooring and back-splash first. Mainly because it is easier to match the rest of the items. The style of appliances also needs to fit the interior design of the house more broadly. For example, if you have a contemporary or modern house, it would be more difficult to install traditional-looking appliances.
